So After taking my time to figure out exactly what I wanted to do with SpartanUI it hit me. I wasn’t really liking the grayscale textures, no offense but I like a little color in my WoW. So I looked at what made the UI look so great to begin with. Once I knew where to get the images I had a task of finding out how to convert them, but I did.
I used the same color saturation as this site to have continuity between my WoW and my blog. I really like how it came out. I will say that as of last night I have completely recolored all of the textures. I did find it great that I didn’t have to restart WoW everytime I recolored, /reloadui FTW.
I am going to repackage them and send them to Ansu to see if he wants to offer different color variations. After all it was his unaccountable brilliance that made SpartanUI what it is today.
I am even trying to teach myself XML and LUA to make an option window for SpartanUI. Maybe even give it a FuBar plugin since 90% of everything I use can be ran from FuBar.

So yesterday, Tenryuu told me about this awesome looking UI. I happen to be a big fan of the clean lines and slim construction. So I downloaded it and right off the bat had a few problems with it.
First, every 5 seconds or so it was causing my WoW client to lookup, Ctrl+Alt+Del FTL. So I went to WoW Insider and found the macro to turn all my pretty WoW settings back to normal.
Next, I had to move a few things around, starting with my chat window, pretty easy fix. I wanted to move it to sit next to my unit frame but after joining a group I found I had to move it up a little. I also had to move all my buttons around and redo my keybindings. Both of those were simple tasks to complete. It wasn’t until we were running ZA that I found out I had no cooldown timers.
Lastly, I know alot of people have been talking about this but I need debuffs to show on my target frame. I think I found a solution for now but I would like to keep the UI balanced. We all know in WoW that you have to do things you may not like to get your UI to function for you.
Let’s look at what addons I am using with this
- SpartanUI
- ArkInventory
- AtlasLoot Enhanced
- Bartender3
- BigWigs
- Cartographer
- ChatMOD
- Cliques
- CooldownTimers2
- Fubar
- DurabilityFu
- ClockFu
- ReagentFu
- PerformanceFU
- GuildFU
- MoneyFU
- QuestFU
- Grid
- Group Calendar
- Omen2
- PallyPower
- Outfitter
I need to download EBB when I get home from work. I read that it will do my (de)buffs as well as the (de)buffs for my target. I could really care less about the other frames since I use Grid for my party/raid frames.

Well it has been a few weeks with me using Cartographer: Routes and I have fallen in love. It is very simple to use and all around has increased my gather by about 30%. I bet it would have increased my ability to gather by more if I had a [Turbo-Charged Flying Machine Control].
So I finally got around to getting myself a [Zapthrottle Mote Extractor]. I decided after hitting a few clouds in Nagrand I would setup a new colored route for these, I picked light blue for the line color to make it stand out. Well my first day was just flying in circles for three hours trying to fill in my map as much as I could. Day #1 I got 12 [Primal Air], I spent 2 hours the next day and got 9 PAs. Well day three and 4 I only farmed for 1 hour and got 5 or 6 PAs. So 4 days work and I got between 558g and 600g, I also hit any mines that were up and close to my blue path.
Last night I was just flying around for the hell of it buffing random Horde people. I would see a cloud and grab it, but I wasn’t goign all out to get the clouds either. I found this one cloud on my way back to Shattrath and dropped down to get it, I hit this cloud right as a Tauren appeared, he didn’t do anything but I figured he was after it too. Well I moved right before it finished extracting the gas and didn’t get anything. Once I noticed it I hit the cloud again and got it right as the Tauren hit it too.
I was upset that he blatently tried to ninja the could from me. I know he saw me going for it the first time and he should have moved on. I move on, heck I was even racing an Alliance Rogue to clouds the other day and if he had gotten to it before me I wouldn’t even dismount. I didn’t say anything to this would be ninja but it still ‘grinds my gears’. He should have moved on and let me grab my cloud because I did get to it and hit it before he did. I guess some people are just rude to the core.
I think farming PAs is a good way to make money, on Rexxar (US) I sell them for 17g 95s each. The server average is 20g even. I know I am taking a hit in the pocket but I know mine will sell before the 20g ones. Now if I can stop spending the gold I make from getting these and save it for buying my Epic flying skill.
