Hyou² Makeover

Well I have been playing Age of Conan for a month now and I really enjoy the game. So I decided to incorporate AoC into my current site. So for now expect many things to change as the format of the site changes. I am not changing the theme as I really enjoy how it looks.

Here are some of the changes I have made so far:

  • Random image above the sidebars. Everytime you refresh or browse to a new page the image should change.
  • Reorganized my categories to make room for the AoC content.
  • Removed my WoW armory links and raid content progression

So for now I am liking how the changes have gone, I may leave it like this but I doubt it. lol Oh yeah I need to make a new banner for the site. I have an idea of what I want but for now it is my secret. TTYL.

Don’t pick at it!

drama.jpgI don’t know where to begin with this. I want to be blunt with it but I don’t think that is the right thing to do in the situation. So I’m going to recount for you what has transpired and hopefully someone out in the interwebs can help.

Our guild was created from a rift within our sister guild. We wanted to raid more and make progression but the casuals didn’t want to take the guild into a more raiding role. They wanted to keep it casual and fun. Well we all wanted to keep it fun but in order to make headway in the end game content something had to give. So we splintered off and made a raiding guild that is still associate with the main body.

Well it has been less then 7 days since the raiding guild was formed and we have already had issues with not having enough people to raid, issues with one team taking most of the healers and lastly another team starting a Kara run and wanting to continue it when a 25 man raid was called.

So with all that one more gallon of gas was thrown on the fire today. There were some member of the guild PUGing a 25man raid. I asked if we were going to allow this action and was told that they would rather raid then do nothing. I felt the same way but I also thought about the perception of that action to the rest of the guild. Could I tell someone in the guild their actions are wrong if I myself had done something that was deemed as wrong?

So I found out the apparently all of the raids for this week were cancelled. If they had been cancelled then a post on our forums should have gone out to the guild and they should have been closed on the calendar. Easy things to do, communication is a 100% make it or break it factor in the planning stages of the guild.

Well I told the people that were doing this that I will not support their actions and would like them to reconsider what they were doing. I also told them I wasn’t going to argue or have a confrontation over this, that instead I was logging off for the night to relax some before work.

rant.jpgSo I am still upset about what has transpired, our normal 25man raid days are Fri and Sat. If these people had stayed out of the PUG we would have had 19 people signup for the raid. Meaning we only would have had to find 6 more people from our guild and our sister guild to actually get the raid going. As it stand now 22 people are not going to get a chance to raid that zone because of the action of these people.

So here is something you don’t ever do; don’t pick at a scab while it’s still trying to heal, don’t pour salt into a wound. WE are still trying to recover from the split with the other guild and I think these kind of actions only hinder our future growth as a guild.

Welcome back

It is 1 minute after midnight on the 16th of April. If you haven’t paid your taxes you will have an appointment with the pain monster. But the real reason for this is to welcome someone back.
